This is a led class which accommodates all levels of experience. The first
part of the primary series will be taught in depth and the focus will be
on technique and refining the postures. There will then be the opportunity
for the teacher to work with students on an individual basis to adapt the
practice to your level and needs.
Complete beginners and self practitioners are both welcome to the morning classes. The Wednesday evening class is geared towards those with little or no ashtanga experience.
Students can start at any point and need to book one class a week for eight weeks. If a class is cancelled it can be made up at one other all level class within the 8 week period. More on ashtanga vinyasa yoga...
This month long course is for those who are completely new to ashtanga
yoga as well as those who need a refresher. This course introduces the sequential
order of postures, breath control (ujjayi breath), and internal core strength
(bandhas). Ashtanga vinyasa yoga in detail.
This begins the process of self-practice where
you learn to be receptive to your own level, speed and breath while being
supervised by a teacher. In the end you create a personal practice within
the form.
Our next workshops starts on the 27th of March.

posture).
The second week will carry you through the standing and
some key closing postures allowing you to feel confident to partake in the
self-practice beginners sessions. The dynamics of vinyasa will be explored
with jump through's to sitting and standing.
The third week will begin further exploration of the finishing
sequence. By providing strength-building exercises, you will feel confident
entering postures such as urdhva dhanurasana (backbend) and salamba sarvangasana
(shoulder stand).
The fourth week culminates with the full embodiment of
the standing and closing sequences. A few of the postures from the middle
section will be introduced, setting your body in motion for the rest to
be revealed through your self-practice.
