Ulpotha is a stunning private hide-away open to guests for part of the
year; it is a place of total peace, where you can practice yoga, enjoy ayuvedic
treatments and simply unwind. Cradled on one side by low mountains and a
lotus ringed lake, and on the other by tiny emerald green paddy fields,
it is a natural sanctuary of exceptional beauty. Ulpotha is not run on a
profit-generating basis and all revenues from guests are spent supporting
the local community.
About the course
Yoga classes will be led daily by Gingi Lee, the director of the Sangam
Yoga Studio (now the Shala) in London. He is an open-minded and generous
teacher who believes that yoga is a living, growing knowledge that evolves
throughout our life. Developing the meditative and spiritual side of yoga,
students will benefit from his years of study and self-practice in this
area. Ayurveda treatments are administered by Dr Srilal Mudunkothge, an
acclaimed practitioner of this ancient, holistic medical art.
