Welcome to the Shala
(formerly the Sangam Yoga Centre)

in a new location between Balham and Clapham South

The Shala (formerly The Sangam Yoga Centre in Battersea) was set up by Gingi Lee in 1998 and has just relocated to lovely new premises in Balham. Over the years the Sangam/Shala has become a place of self exploration and healing with a strong and supportive community of students. The emphasis at our new, smaller and more intimate centre, will continue to be on personal touch. No class will exceed 14 people which means students will benefit greatly from individual attention. The Sangam teachers have all relocated with us to the new Shala and we will be opening a therapy room upstairs.

Come and join us for regular yoga classes, therapies, special events and one-off workshops in a unique and welcoming atmosphere. Please check our schedule for the most up-to-date classes and workshops, all of which must be booked (see booking information). Here is what we offer:

Ashtanga yoga classes run all week, a couple of times a day. The other classes we offer on antenatal yoga and yoga for babies and kids bring about a lovely link into the cycle of life; with the hope that yoga will be a part of your family and future.

To compliment your yoga practice, we regularly host guest speakers and practitioners from a wide variety of disciplines.

After more than 8 years in Battersea, we aim to continue providing a special environment to deepen your mind body practices. We hope you will feel at home in the special new shala that we have created and we look forward to getting feedback and ideas on how it can evolve.
